We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, generate meal plans, or communicate with us. This includes:

• Generated meal plans and grocery lists

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate personalized meal plans based on your preferences
• Create smart grocery lists from your meal plans
• Improve and optimize our AI meal planning algorithms
• Communicate with you about your account and our services
• Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
• Send you updates about new features and improvements

Your data is stored securely on our servers. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit and at rest
• Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Access controls and authentication requirements
• Secure cloud infrastructure with reputable providers

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide you services. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

You can connect your SummitPlate account to an AI assistant: ChatGPT, operated by OpenAI, or Muse, operated by Meta. When you choose to save a recipe through a connected assistant, SummitPlate receives the selected recipe's structured content, such as its title, ingredients, instructions, servings, source credit and AI labels. Connected requests can also read or change your authorized cookbook, meal plans and grocery lists. A connection has no automatic whole-conversation import. We store saved recipe versions, plan copies and records of requested changes to provide these features and handle retries consistently.

When you connect, you choose which permissions to grant. You can allow full access or read-only access, which lets the assistant view your cookbook, meal plans and grocery lists but not change them. We store account-link and permission information and authorization and security records to connect the correct account, enforce its permissions and prevent reuse of revoked access.

When you use connected tools, their authorized results are returned only to the assistant you connected. Our hosting and database providers process requests and stored data to operate SummitPlate, and our analytics and error-monitoring providers receive limited technical information without your recipe, plan or grocery content. We use data received through an assistant connection only to provide, secure and support the features you request. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. OpenAI's handling of your ChatGPT activity is governed by its own privacy policy and your ChatGPT settings. Meta's handling of your Muse activity is governed by its own privacy policy and your Muse settings.

Your cookbook remains private to your account. If you explicitly add a recipe to a shared meal plan, people authorized to use that plan can see its saved copy. Connecting an assistant does not publish your cookbook. Review the permissions when connecting, and disconnect in Account Connections. Disconnecting prevents further use of that connection; it does not remove your saved cookbook or erase data already returned to the assistant.

Removing a recipe hides it from your active cookbook; stored versions, operation records and meal-plan copies can remain. Successful account deletion removes your personal cookbook and plans owned by your account. Copies held in other authorized accounts or planning scopes can remain. Some operation and security records can remain after account deletion; a connection's expiry does not itself erase every stored record. Contact support@summitplate.com to request an export or account deletion or ask about retained data.

We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website and providing our services. These providers are contractually obligated to:

• Maintain the confidentiality of your information
• Use your information only for the purposes we specify
• Comply with applicable data protection laws

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties without your consent, except as required by law.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Opt-out of marketing communications
• Export your data in a portable format
